Dads Day

Let’s celebrate!

Wow! I love celebration.

Our sweet little family of 4 celebrated my husband this weekend. If you don’t already know, we are a little bit fond of sweet tea. We are Texas transplants and sweet tea runs through our veins. When we moved to Kansas, there were no sweet tea shops, so with Gods hand we began to build our business, The Well House, Premium Iced Tea. One thing my husband loves is sweet tea. So of course we had to celebrate Fathers Day with a HUGE glass of sweet tea. He also loves Cajun food. There is a fun Cajun Restaurant in Tulsa, Nolas Creole, that we enjoy eating at. Of course we had to have a German chocolate cake from Traci as well. I loved the simplicity of the day. Celebrating him with his two favorite things was so fun!

Not too long ago, I found a few verses that I started praying over him. It is so PACKED that these verses could literally last all year long for our husbands, I truly felt like it covered almost every facet of their lives and what they face as husbands/fathers. I was really moved during Fathers Day when the guest speaker began to touch on the legacy of a father. I pulled out my trusted verses and just began to pray over my husband again. What an amazing responsibility and calling they have to leave a legacy for future generations. The Neill family will forever be impacted by my husband, Kendall.

I will be strength to him, and I will give him my grace to sustain him no matter what comes. 22 None of his enemies will get the best of him, nor will the wicked one overpower him. 23 For I will crush his every adversary and do away with all who hate him. 24 Because I love him and treasure him, my faithfulness will always protect him. I will place my great favor upon him, and I will cause his power and fame to increase.27 I am setting him apart… 28 I will love him forever and always show him kindness. My covenant with him will never be broken. 29 For I have decreed that he will always have an heir— a dynasty that will release the days of heaven on earth.

I just wanted to hit on a few things out of that verse, “None of his enemies will get the best of him.” What a time it is to be a parent? Does anyone feel me on this? There are so many things coming at Godly families, it’s like we constantly have to be on guard and aware of what are children our facing. I love that we can rest in that verse and the burden doesn’t feel heavy because we have the Lord who will make sure that the enemies will never get the best of our family.

I also love “My covenant with Him will never be broken.” God treasures our husbands. He is more in love with them than we are. He knows them better than we do and He will never break a covenant with them. That is so freeing as a wife. Gods hand and protection is ALWAYS upon Kendall. I don’t have to worry or get worked up. It truly sets me free.

This whole passage was refreshing for me as a wife. I can get in routines where it’s easier to pray about my wants/needs. I love focusing on my husband. He doesn’t even have to know what I am praying but I get to see the beautiful unfolding of answered prayers right before my very eyes.
